Adult Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Care The AMITA Health Behavioral Medicine Institute Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs offer short-term, comprehensive treatment options for adults living with emotional difficulties and/or addiction issues that hurt their quality of life. PHP and IOP are therapeutic treatment experiences for individuals who require more than the conventional outpatient level of care but do not need the security of a locked unit or hour care.

Partial Hospitalization Program PHP Partial hospitalization is an intensive short-term group based program if you’re experiencing an acute episode of depression and/or anxiety. Often, individuals in the program are receiving therapy for the first time and will be transitioning back to work, school or home. Therefore, if you complete our inpatient treatment, we may recommend that you participate in our adult partial hospitalization program (PHP) so that you can continue making progress. Or, if you do not need more intensive care at the start of your treatment, our PHP can be the introduction to your treatment experience.

When an adult’s daily functioning is impaired by mental illness, yet criteria is not met for hospitalization, Mindful Transitions, the Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), provides intensive treatment in a safe and therapeutic environment, without full hospitalization.
